Tips¶
- Switch profiles to explore different delay characters without changing your time or mix settings.
- The profiles are ordered from darkest to brightest, although this can depend on the source signal. Treat the character buttons like presets for the general tone of the sound.
- Green and Emerald offer the longest maximum delay; Red and Pink are more compact for classic slap-back and short echoes when pedal mode is on.
- The visualizer halftone colour follows the active profile.
Pedal Notes¶
- Peach: The darkest of the lot, built like a tank by a Japanese company in the 1980s who to this day are famous for making drums. Be warned, this is a very dark pedal but it has its uses and its fans. It uses the MN3205 chip and runs at 9V.
- Pink: Made by one Japanese company for another Japanese company in the 1980s, there were a number of famously pink pedals but this one is universally adored by anyone who has owned it. It runs at 18V and uses the original MN3005 chip. This gives it more headroom and a broader range of frequencies. It's like a warm pillow under your guitar.
- Red: Probably the most famous of the lot, this is a warm pedal that has a certain ping to the echoes that makes it sound amazing for slapback. Also lots of fun for getting on your knees on stage and tweaking the knobs to create self oscillation through the feedback control. Runs at 9V.
- Forest: A neo-classic dark echo that sits thick in the mix. Great for rhythmic repeats and slapback without stretching into the ultra-long territory of Green. Warm lows, soft highs, and a very usable midrange grit as you push the delay time.
- Green: This pedal was based on the Forest and modernized to include various conveniences like tap tempo and modulation control. This one has a way of sitting just right in the mix and sounds great with modulation, especially when used with synths. It's a more refined sound when compared to the Forest.
- Maroon: A modern take on Red made with modern BBD chips and running at 9V. This one is a good all rounder with a clearer character than the Red original, as well as extended delay times. A modern classic made with special craft.
- Emerald: Same long delay world as Green, but with a brighter top end that keeps repeats more present in a dense mix. Useful when you want the Green character without the repeats disappearing under the dry signal.
- Silver: If the Red is the most famous, this one stands toe to toe with it. It's the brightest of the bunch and works great with synths. Add some triangle modulation at 1Hz or 4Hz, put the feedback up to just before self oscillation and be transported into a cloudy sky full of dreams. For extra authenticity, enable the Silver's preamp emulation by pressing PRE in the header.
